Library Partnerships
About
The Canmore Public Library is proud to partner with the Community Library Sedona as Sister Libraries, a part of the Canmore-Sedona Sister City relationship.
Sister City Library partnerships create opportunities for cultural exchange, lifelong learning, and global community connection. Through collaborative programs, knowledge-sharing, and new friendships, libraries can help people discover the stories, perspectives, and experiences that make another community unique, while finding connections that bring us closer together.
Connecting Canmore and Sedona Through Stories
Our first joint initiative was a Local Author Book Exchange. Each library selected seven books by local authors that reflect the unique landscapes, histories, and voices of their communities.
These stories invite readers to explore and connect with the heart of another community through its literature.
Capture the Moment Photo Contest
Our second joint initiative invited photographers from both communities to participate in a Capture the Moment Photo contest. Participants were asked to share a single image along with a written reflection, capturing the landscapes, stories, and lived moments that shape our communities.
Together, these initiatives have given us new ways to see and understand each other’s communities.
Books and Beyond
This partnership goes beyond libraries and books. It’s about connecting people across borders, celebrating the stories, voices, and ideas that define who we are, and discovering the things we have in common as we bring our communities closer together.
We look forward to continuing to grow this connection between Canmore and Sedona and exploring new ways for our communities to learn from and connect with each other.
We invite you to explore this new chapter with us. Browse the books, join the conversation, and see where this connection takes us next.
Our libraries have now completed two joint initiatives, bringing the communities of Canmore and Sedona together through books, photography, and storytelling.
