We are a group of Canmore citizens committed to the international movement of Sister Cities. We have joined hands with a like-minded group from Sedona, Arizona, a community that shares similar values and challenges to our mountain town.

After four years of planning and relationship-building, the Town of Canmore and the City of Sedona, Arizona officially became Sister Cities following unanimous Council approvals in May and June of 2025. The relationship was formalized with a Mayor-to-Mayor signing in Canmore on June 28, 2025.

With the strong support of Mayor Sean Krausert and Council, and led by a non-profit society, the Canmore-Sedona Sister Cities Association, the relationship between the two communities is built on mutual respect, cooperation and shared values. We have a shared commitment to fostering goodwill, cultural exchange, and collaboration across the arts and culture, education, libraries, wellness, governance, business, and outdoor recreation.

The partnership has already led to meaningful collaborative projects and exchanges including grade school student projects, library exchanges, a classical concert series, a golf exchange, and plans for a 2027 Summer Youth Exchange.
